Axil Coffee Roasters

My cousin's boyfriend introduced this place to us for brunch.
The food was good !

Pictures usually don't tell you what goes on behind the scenes.

Half the time, I am actually pretty much tired, tired, TIRED !!!!

Although Mike does help me here and there, but I'm still tired because I'm the main caretaker and Olivia still doesn't sleep throughout the night. WHEN OH WHEN?!

My "work shifts" are round the clock.

When we are out, we are usually taking turns to eat our meal hence it is indeed a blessing to be able to eat your meal WARM with a baby.

Most of the time, my food is already cold by the time I dig in.

Sometimes, Mike helps to cut my food into bite sizes so that I can eat with ease while attending to Olivia.

Baked eggs + chorizo + pumpkin grain toast

Rosemary + lemon crumbed chicken burger

Because I'm still breastfeeding, I have to avoid creams and cheeses and milk (dairy, in particular) because of Olivia's eczema.

I MISS EATING CHEESE! I haven't eaten carbonara in ages and I love carbonara.
I miss eating cereal + milk.
I MISS eating cheesecake.
I miss drinking chocolate milk.
I miss Llao llao frozen yoghurt.

Can't wait to stop breastfeeding. Told Mike, that I'd celebrate by ordering a pizza when that day arrives !!!

This was some special that day - it had duck in it.

There were many occasions when I thought that Olivia was teething but it turned out to be a false alarm. However, during our trip in Melbourne, her teeth just HAD to show up!

At 8 months old, her first tooth started showing.

She would be drooling - ALOT - patches of drool would be on the bedsheets.
She was also extra fussy and would be biting away at her teethers.

It wasn't easy travelling with a teething baby.
She would constantly wake up throughout the night!

But looking back, I'm amazed at how we managed to travel with Olivia throughout the day.
Most of the time, we would be out from morning til night bringing everything that we needed for the day.

Breastfeeding really makes everything so much more easier when travelling ! ;)

I'm so glad that we decided on bringing her Combi stroller because it's self standing and it also made our lives much more easier - especially when dining in crowded restaurants, we could just easily fold the stroller and put it aside against the wall.

The only con is that the stroller is so bulky that it takes almost the entire space in the car boot.

We needed two cars to pick us up from our airport because our luggage bags could not fit into the boot with the stroller. Even when travelling to the airport from home, we hired a taxi van.

My once toothless baby now has 5 teeth at 10 months old.

The teething never really ends until her whole set of teeth appear !!!

I've noticed that her eczema tends to flare up every single time a new tooth emerges. WHAT is up with that? Urghhhh.

The pictures below are totally unrelated to the above topic.

PHO FIX in Melbourne !

Pho in Boxhill

Pho in Springvale - it was such an adventure eating here.

We arrived rather late (literally on the dot at the closing time at 8 pm).

We were just thankful that the shop owner allowed us to dine there.

Pho goodness sake. 8 pm closing time? Pho real?

Mr Hendricks in Melbourne

Since I came back from Melbourne, I have been super busy because I had no domestic help at home !  We sent our helper home because her work visa was expiring and I didn't want to keep her any longer because she drives me NUTS due to her dishonesty, lazy and GREEDY ways.

However, now that a new domestic helper arrived recently, I can finally take some time to smell the roses once again. Hahaha.

I'm still partially busy though - busy teaching and monitoring my helper until such time that I trust her enough. So far, she seems okay though but only time will tell.

I was going through my Melbourne pictures and 80% of the pictures are all pics of FOOD!
Totally missing all the good food that I had in Melbourne.

I was just thinking to myself that I am so fortunate to have been able to eat "luxuriously" in the past because I don't think that I'd get to dine in fancy restaurants with a baby for a good couple of years.

Glad I experienced it while I could!

Almost every place that I dined in Melb was recommended by my sister or aunt.

During this trip, my aunt brought us to Mr Hendricks, which happens to be her favourite place for brunch.

I think my aunt has eaten brunch here around 4-5 times that particular week because she's always bringing people to try it out. LOL. She brought my sister there. She brought Mike and I there. She brought my mum there. We all flew in on different dates. Hahaha.

The food here is good!

Actually, come to think of it, MOST of the pictures I have during this trip are not just food pics but pics of Olivia as well!

I have a gazillion photos of her and I have to keep deleting pics from my phone because there is not enough storage.
