What do you love?

I met a man who once told me that every waking day,
he thanks God for giving him another day of life.

Life, as we all know it, is unpredictable and full of uncertainties.
And so, we worry about tomorrow - constantly making plans for the future.

And there are those who are luckier than most,
those who are able to chase their dreams
that are beyond necessities -

Fancy dining.
A swankier car.
A bigger and better house.
A holiday home.

At the end of the day, does this really matter?
Some use it as a means to justify their goals, ambitions - to motivate themselves in life.
To be successful? To make it BIG - monetary wise?

It is pointless to set your heart on material longings
or to even be envious of others who are seemingly living a better life than yours.

There's this quote that I once read that is stuck at the back of my head -
"When you look at what you don't have, you have nothing, but if you look at what you have, you have everything."

Reading about the tragic natural disasters have been making me reflect about life.
There are many who have lost their loved ones, lost their house, their home - literally everything.
And yet there are many who already have everything in their lives but are still not contented.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." -Hebrews 13:5
